Serves 4-6
Ingredients
4-6 not too ripe pears
75g sultanas
75g pine nuts
75g unsalted butter
100ml honey
Method
Slice the pears in half lengthways. Scoop out the core, creating a shallow trench down the middle. Place the pear halves in a well-buttered baking tray, cut side up. Fill the trench of each half with a mixture of sultanas and pine nuts and dab a knob of butter on each. Dribble the honey over them. Heat the oven to 190°C/375F/Gas 5. Slide the pears into the oven for 10 to 15 minutes depending on ripeness. You should be able to pierce them easily with a knife point. It will need cream, and don’t forget the honeyed juices.
